I make sure to stop by Louie's on every trip home. I love how it has never changed and is always great food.

Best Pizza in town is Louies...Grottos and Nicolas are trash don't do it to your self...I have vomited from it

Good pizza close to the boardwalk. It's also a little cheaper than Nicola, but if you go to Nicola for the Nic-o-boli, you go to Louie's for their cheesesteaks. I split a 12" pizza steak with tomatoes and onions, which was pretty good. They have a variety of other toppings as well. I also got a medium fries from Thrasher's, although there fries looked up to snuff. Having had both, I would have preferred a Nic-o-boli, not to mention being able to sit down, seeing as Louie's has some space, but every table was taken, whereas Louie's has 2 restaurants and tons of space. Nicola has a little more variety, with pasta and appetizers. I'm not sure who's pizza is better, only having had Louie's, but both looked good, with Louie's being cheaper. If you're by the boardwalk, or you're from Philly and are in the mood for a cheesesteak, go to Louie's. If you're bringing a crowd and want a few more options, go to Nicola.

Pizza slices were huge! They were a little greasy for me but if you want a good value, there is none better that I have found in the area. I haven't tried the other food, but they have a very god looking menu and the wait staff is very friendly.

The BEST thin crust oily NY style pizza at the beach...hands down...no one even comes close! Skip the Grotto crap and come here. Went off-season by accident because I got hungry while walking the dog and became an immediate convert. Totally worth the wait during the season.

Don't ever go here! Extremely rude kids working in this DUMP! I would hope that if the owner was there things MIGHT have gone different.

We ate at Nicola's the night before, then tried Louie's the next day. I'm so glad we did. What Nicola's lacked in flavor Louie's made up for and more. Even my little kids could taste the difference and devoured their meals. The place has zero ambience and limited seating so if that's a problem try the take out. Either way you get it you are in for a treat.

We found Louie's during our trip here last year and so glad we did. We've returned to the beach this year and it's just as good as I remember. The steak and cheese grinder is very flavorful and is priced well for the location. Definitely recommended.

Man oh man this is the shit the pizza and cheese steak are my favorite well I can't forget the cheese fries they are the bomb if you want some good food come on and get you some.

Had 2 slices of cheese and LOVED it! I hit the carry out window and service was pretty fast considering the steady flow of patrons. Crust was excellent and the sauce was perfect. Covering the two was a blanket of melted cheese that was a bit chewy but still broke when biting through...great even on a hot summer day. Will return for sure!

Hands down the best pizza in Rehoboth Beach. And by pizza, I mean REAL pizza. Not that crap stuff you find elsewhere where they spray on your sauce with a gun. In circles. You will not find a bad meal in this place.

  • Tania K.

Ordered take-out... Cheese pizza absolutely delicious! Thin, light and crispy crust! Very tasty and flavorful sauce and cheese!

    Great pizza!

  • Maureen F.

Quick in and out...but the pizza is just *OK*...not great but not bad. Close to the boardwalk. Not much seating area and people will hover waiting for your table. Nicola's is MUCH better. Louie's has more crust than a NY Style. But its much better than Grotto's.

    (3)
  • JR S.

Love this place. Cheesesteaks are great. Pizza is above average and better than that ketchup on cardboard they serve at Grottos. Cheese fries are good.

My family has been coming to our beach house in Rehoboth since the 50's! We have grown-up eating Louie's, Grotto's, and Nicola's pizza over the years. Recently we sat down to do a family blind taste test to see which one we REALLY love. Louie's won HANDS DOWN! It is definitely the favorite - their pizza is SO good. Of course they are also number one for their cheesesteak grinders too.

    Cheese Steak was greeeaaat!!!

  • Danielle O.

HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! women(possibly man) behind the counter cursed and yelled at me when I told her she gave me the wrong drink. goodish pizza but I will NEVER eat here again due to the horrendous, disgusting animals that work there.

  • Olga W.

The food is good but the portions have been dwindling over the years - for example, the size of the individual pizza slices, and the amount of cheese in the cheese fries. I've never had an issue with any server but the female cashier (the one who looks like Bucky Hackett) up front is absolutely rude to everybody and really needs to be stuck back in the kitchen where she used to work]. I don't even like going up to the window anymore because of her so I just eat in the dining area.

Louie's Pizza is pitching a perfect game in my life. As an (almost) 30 year old man who has been visiting Rehoboth with at least semi-regularity since my birth, I can honestly say that I have eaten a minimum of one slice of Louie's pepperoni every single day that I have ever spent in Rehoboth, at least as far back as I can remember. Thanks Dad, seriously. Louie's rebaked pizza by the slice is a vacation staple that has bled into the ether of my life, and cemented itself as one of my favorite dishes of all time. While I have heard they feature an array of solid american-italian favorites, I can incredibly say that in my three decades of patronage, I have only ever ordered pizza-by-the-slice. My visits to the Delaware coast have become less frequent in the last decade, but my love for this place has compounded, and established itself as a go-to for the rest of my life. On my list of establishments that I hope and pray to outlive me, Louie's is solidly in the top 3.

I believe this pizza place is over rated. We called in our order and when we picked it up it was super soggy. It was really greasy and I wouldn't go back there again.

  • Dave M.

Horrible service. Terrific pizza. (No need for extra cheese.)

The boy and I walked into Louie's looking for pizza (their signature namesake) but left finding true love in the most delicious cheese steak to have ever hit my lips. Days later we are still talking about it! In the past, I have judged cheesesteaks on the following parameters so I will do the following: + Brown Bag Test - Has the sandwich turned the paper bag clear? If so, there is a delicious treat waiting inside. + Steak to Bread Ratio - There should be an adequate amount of steak covering the roll. + The Holy Trio - Mushrooms, Sweet Peppers, and Sauteed Onions + Cheese - American Cheese, Provolone, or Cheese Wiz + Steak - The steak should be cooked on a griddle with grease and chopped + Juice - Juice should flow down from the cheesesteak + Sides - French fries, always french fries Based on all of these, I would say Louie's was a resounding win!* There was so much juicy steak rubbing all up into the crevices of that bun and they even have cheese fries as a side! The cheese fries come in a huge container and they layer the fries so you get a little bit of cheddar in every bite. This is not a place to work on your beach body, but if you split a sandwich and limit your fry intake you should be pretty good.** *We ate in so the brown bag test was unable to be completed at press time. **Eff it. Eat the entire freaking sandwich. Treat yo'self!

Planned on trying Grotto's because I was told it was great but ultimately decided on Louie's. It was a great decision. The pizza was delicious. My 9 year old had three pieces and the pieces aren't small. Needless to say he was in a "pizza coma". There were 5 of us, two female adults and three children. We got the 16" pizza and a sub(grinder). Without the sub it wouldn't have been enough for us. The sub wasn't that great. It was in the oven long enough for the cheese to melt and that's it. There was no Italian dressing on it even though it was an Italian sub. Even though the sub wasn't that good we still ate it because we were hungry and didn't want to wait for another pizza. The service was great and friendly. I'm sure we'll be back next year for vacation but only for two pies

    (4)
  • K M.

An all time favorite for our family. Can't take a trip to Rehoboth without stopping in for some subs and grinders. My favorite is the chicken cheese steak with sweet peppers. So delicious. Kids love the fries, meatball subs and the birch beer! A definite must try!!

  • Ann S.

I was so excited to try this place after all the good reviews. When I throw away pizza, it's BAD. The cashier was surly, the pizza was greasy and tasteless. I'd say there are better pizza places but not by much.

    (1)
  • K B.

The best pizza on the boardwalk. The place has the same dumpy feel it's had for years. I noticed that they take credit cards now... finally! The staff and waiter still treat customers with attitude, but that part of the charm? of Louie's.

I used to live in Rehoboth about 15 years ago and was at Louie's at least twice a week because I worked right on the boardwalk. I've been jonesing for years for a Louie's ham and cheeses grinder. Maybe my years of expectations were just too high and there was no way that anyone could match them (admittedly, that is probably the case) but it wasn't much better than what I could make at home. Regular sub roll, lunch meat ham, literally the same that you would get at the grocery store, and a little mayo. Not bad, but just nothing to write home about.

    (3)
  • Donna S.

Great thin crust pizza with lots of crispy pepperoni. One of my favorite pizzas ever. Perfect, gooey, well seasoned cheesesteaks. The place hasn't changed since I was a kid, but that just adds to the charm.

    (5)
  • Kelsey K.

The pizza is really greasy and flimsy, I would never eat it again. We also got fries, which were okay. I would 100% recommend going to Grottos for pizza instead.

    (1)
  • Fat T.

Great pizza. Very generous with the cheese. The crust is nice and chewy. Pizza by the slice is $2. Small pie is only 5.95. Best value on the boardwalk.

  • Quaker W.

There's a lot of good food in Rehoboth, but I keep coming back to Louie's. The grinders are outstanding. The bread is fresh and crisped in the oven and doesn't overwhelm the fillings. The pizza steak grinder is the best I've had since Sophies Steaks disappeared from West Philadelphia. My kids love the meatball grinders. French fries look outstanding -- clearly fresh cut and fried to order -- but I've never tried them. The takeout window is a plus when I'm coming up barefoot from the beach to grab lunch for the crew. Can't speak for the pizza, but based on what I've had there, highly recommended.

Nothing special, but this is decent "beach" pizza when you're in a pinch. Location is great and pickup is quick.

This is our pizza joint at the beach. Here it's not about the place; it's all about the pie. First they start with the best buttery crust. Good start right! Then sauce cTo cheese ratio is on point. We had one of those designer pizzas the night before and the toppings were literally sliding off the pie. Not at Louie's. They make old school pizzas where the star of the show is the meat and the cheese. Even the basic bare bones dining room reminds me of the pizza joints I grew up on in NYC. Louie's is a must for those of us who crave an old fashion delish 5-star pizza without all the high priced trendy toppings that leave you mad and still hungry.

    (5)
  • Carrie H.

We loved Louie's so much that during or week stay in Rehoboth we ordered it twice. Their pizza, cheese fries and grinders were delicious! When you order extra cheese you get extra cheese! Can't wait to go back to Rehoboth again just to get Louie's!

  • Kristine H.

I was really excited to try their pizza based on their reviews. I've been coming to Rehoboth for over 20 years. I walked up to the counter to order one slice of pepperoni pizza. After waiting 15 mins. I went back to the counter to ask about my slice and they said I was next. After another 10 mins. I went back to the counter and asked for my money back. No one should have to wait 25 mins. for ONE slice of pizza. They gave my money back and didn't apologize. Highly disappointed with the service!

  • Tony H.

Delicious pizza. Real sausage not those mystery meat crumb bombs like on mass produced pizza. Light on the sauce which is fine with me.

    (4)
  • Nicole B.

I stopped in here to get an Italian sub since Capriotti's is no more on the Ave. I had no idea what to expect. When we opened it i was disappointed. It was boiled ham on top instead of peppered ham and also the salami seemed to be cooked instead of hard salami. But we were pleasantly surprised by the overall taste and it did not skimp on the meat. And the pizza isnt too bad either.

    (3)
  • Justin M.

Really not a fan. Tried it several times now and the crust taste like frozen pizza crust and the pizza itself is greasy and often undercooked. Cheese is flavorless and staff seems inconvenienced that you're even there.

I was surprised how tasty the cheese steak grinder was. And for $7.75 a pretty good deal for right there on the boardwalk.

Ok sandwiches. Terrible service. The owner refused to give me ketchup on the side for my kids hotdog.

Great pizza, thin grilled style. They sell by the slice or by the whole pie. Located just a few feet from the boardwalk, it is a nice option for pizza in RB.

I'm sorry, I don't get it. I read the other reviews here, they're astounding. My brother has been eating their pizza (and has had a love affair with it) for at least 30 years. But I've eaten their pizza three times since they opened in 1974 and found myself queasy each time. I truly don't care for the flavor, which is a combination of spicy and old world, with bland and forgettable. Weird cheese. Loads of grease. Just doesn't taste right to me at all and I have a younger sister who lives in the area who agrees with me. We much prefer Grotto (I could eat that for breakfast, lunch and dinner every day of the year). A good runner up, to me, would be Nicolas. Louie's I would only eat if I were starving and even then I don't think I'd want their pizza. I also didn't find their staff to be friendly the one time I dined in. I'd say go for it and try it, but then have Grottos and check out the difference for yourself. Their pizza tends to be a little more light and I really love the flavor. Grease on a shingle would easily be the best way I could sum it up. Sorry, Louie's :-/

The family loves Louies. The pizza and subs are great and the fries are the best. Burgers are ok, but I would still give the restaurant 5 stars. When you order pick up, they wait until u get there to cook the fries so they are tasty.

Mr. Louie makes some of the tastiest Pizza and the BEST subs and Grinders in the Beach areas. Always fresh and well prepared. Great Service too, be it carry out or sit down. A very friendly place .... Great Job Louie, Tim and Tony !!!!

They have great pizza and subs! They have a take out place right next to the sit down restaurant. FOOD: First time I just had the pizza, which is freakin good. It was just pepperoni pizza, but tasty and not greasy on the bottom. The second time I had the meatball sub, which are large meatballs with marinara sauce on toasty bread. Yummy! I definitely come back!

It is 4th of july weekend, Im 8 months pregnant. We went into the dining room to order there are no seats inside waitress tells us to wait outside and she will come get us, table opens up we go to sit inside when i sit down the waitress screams at me "I thought i told you go wait outside, why wont you people listen." She was American 5'7 tan athletic build with curly blond hair. needless to say we left because I feared if we stayed she would have spit in our food. Louies is where the scum of rehoboth go to work. Went to Gus and Gus got a wonderful cheese steak and service and go to Grottos for my pizza. We will never come here again.

We went here for pizza this year after researching the local joints as we dined at another pizzeria last summer during our visit. We ordered two small pizzas (one pepperoni and one peppers/onions) as well as a large cheese pizza for three adults and four kids. The pizza was so delicious.. The crust was so fresh, crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. They were very busy but our service was speedy and we didn't wait long for our dinner. Service was great; waitresses were quick with drinks and very friendly! Whenever we are in Rehoboth, we will definitely go back to Louie's!

I've been going to Louie's for over 25 years and it is by far my favorite place to grab a quick bite at the beach. Been going for so long I remember when they didn't serve fries and you had to go to Thrasher's or Tony's to get fries to go with their awesome food. Now that they have fries, it makes the experience that much better. My go to is the Cheeseburger Grinder, but all their grinders and subs are amazing. Great pizza too. Definitely can't go wrong at Louie's.

Pizza slice was the smallest I've ever seen in my life. Three of their slices is equivalent to one NY style slice. Crust was mediocre and overall flavor was just OK. Cheese steak grinder was way too salty. The toasted bread was very good. The fresh cut fries were very good doused with vinegar.

Horrible and abusive customer service. Pizza is decent, but the staff is so rude and it takes forever!!! And don't even ask for ketchup for thrashers fries. Staff got violent. Seriously violent.

Tomatoes, cheese, and bread (among many other things) are on my "doctor's list of foods to avoid so I won't get sick", *however* I was really craving pizza, caved in, and had Louie's. I was SO glad I did. It was so worth taking extra meds for (now that says a lot lol) because their pizza is OUT OF THIS WORLD (and I know this for a fact because the person I was with eats pizza several times a week and he agreed, so it must be true, right?)! I'm just thankful that Louie's isn't closer to my house, or my doctor would be very upset.

The absolute best for...EVERYTHING. I cannot think of one thing that I don't like. The Pepperoni Pizza is loaded with pepperoni, the Cheese Fries are LEGIT, cheese baked onto the fries and done right, and the grinders are amazing! Go for the italian grinder! Plus the fact they have Birch Beer makes it even better. If you think Grotto is great, you've never had Louie's. I wish it were open year round. Probably good it isn't, or else I'd gain alot more weight! Plus they added credit cards in 2009, much easier to pay for food now!

We were looking for some good pizza in the area and decided to check out Louie's. From some serious foodies, we were very happy! We did the take-out window. The pizzas looked great coming out of the oven. I noticed that most people ordered their pizza well done. I didn't know this trick ahead, but it looked like a great idea. The guy I ordered from was grumpy, but oh well--the pizza was great. We had plain and pepperoni and thoroughly enjoyed both!

Yep...finger lickin' great! This is the best in Rehoboth! Don't worry about trying the others. You won't be disappointed. We had the pepperoni for lunch one day, then went back for late nite snack the next day. Kids and adults!!!! We also tried out the Grinder. Not bad, but I'd stick with the pizza.

I was so excited to go to Louie's after reading all of the great reviews on here but I was disappointed. I was visiting Rehoboth from upstate New York and was dying for some decent pizza. The restaurant was pretty empty when we got there so we decided to eat inside. I was really happy that they had birch beer, and it was good. Our server recommended the cheesy fries so my table shared those and ordered gyros and pizza. Our meals all came out at different times and mine didn't come until everybody else had finished eating. The cheesy fries were ok but they definitely weren't anything special; just normal fries with pizza cheese on top. I ordered a pizza but honestly, I've had better pizza from Dominos. It was very bland. The others at my table said the gyros were bland too. Overall I was disappointed with the food and probably wouldn't go back.

Best cheese fries anywhere!! After having a bad experience in a different restaurant in Rehoboth, my husband and I stopped by Louie's to get a late night snack. We ended up getting cheese fries and a pizza, and fell in love! Now it is our ritual to get cheese fries and a pizza from here every year. I also love the cheese steak. We think they have the best pizza in the Rehoboth area. The place is always packed, and we always get our food to go, so we can't vouch for the eat in area. Last year they finally added a ATM, which is great because they are cash only and it was kind of a hassle to go track down a ATM.

We've been coming to Rehobeth Beach for 12 years, and it wouldn't be a vacation without Louie's cheese steaks. They are hands-down the best! The meat is tender and juice and the portion is fair. I usually get a whole one and save half for breakfast. Their pizzas are also really good - light crust and the right about of sauce. Birch beer is especially refreshing on hot summer nights. We've never dined in- aways to go, so I cannot speak to their service. Guys that work the take out counter are always friendly...and fast.

Quick in and out...but the pizza is just *OK*...not great but not bad. Close to the boardwalk. Not much seating area and people will hover waiting for your table. Nicola's is MUCH better. Louie's has more crust than a NY Style. But its much better than Grotto's.

We loved Louie's so much that during or week stay in Rehoboth we ordered it twice. Their pizza, cheese fries and grinders were delicious! When you order extra cheese you get extra cheese! Can't wait to go back to Rehoboth again just to get Louie's!

Delicious pizza. Real sausage not those mystery meat crumb bombs like on mass produced pizza. Light on the sauce which is fine with me.

One of the staff members was pretty rude, but I got over it when I tasted the pizza. It was absolutely delicious. It's not the cheapest, but the price could be worse and I think it was worth it.

The pizza at this place is always awesome, but have only had so-so luck with the wait service. Regardless, even with a douche waiter, I would tell anyone to get over it, stop and eat here, the pizza is that good!

  • Steve S.

The family loves Louies. The pizza and subs are great and the fries are the best. Burgers are ok, but I would still give the restaurant 5 stars. When you order pick up, they wait until u get there to cook the fries so they are tasty.

  • Frank R.

It really comes down to two things with me... Taste and service. And this place lacks both. Guy behind the counter would rather be any where but at work. The pizza was something you could have got from the frozen food section of any grocery store. Fries were ok. Price was higher than the local prices but I'm usually not a complainer of price when food quality is there. There are plenty of choices... Search elsewhere. Oh and don't dare ask for more ketchup for you fries :-O

Ok service. The pizza is not good. The crust is greasy, like it was fried.

Mr. Louie makes some of the tastiest Pizza and the BEST subs and Grinders in the Beach areas. Always fresh and well prepared. Great Service too, be it carry out or sit down. A very friendly place .... Great Job Louie, Tim and Tony !!!!

  • Nancy R.

While you hear all about Grotto's (gross) and Nick-a-bolis(2nd best), no one ever mentions the deliciousness that is Louie's. We think it is the tastiest pizza in town. Ooey gooey cheese, tangy sauce, chewy crust. The grinders are delicious and my husband said the gyro's are some of the best he has ever had. The fries are fresh, hot salty goodness. Friendly, fast service. Great for kids. We come back every year!!!

  • Pam V.

  • Lulu T.

    (2)
  • Allison B.

Horrible and abusive customer service. Pizza is decent, but the staff is so rude and it takes forever!!! And don't even ask for ketchup for thrashers fries. Staff got violent. Seriously violent.

People here are rude. Food is pretty good. Salty as hell though. Would come back if I was in a bad mood so when they are rude I will tear them up. Overall, be a dick back

Ordered take-out... Cheese pizza absolutely delicious! Thin, light and crispy crust! Very tasty and flavorful sauce and cheese!

Quick in and out...but the pizza is just *OK*...not great but not bad. Close to the boardwalk. Not much seating area and people will hover waiting for your table. Nicola's is MUCH better. Louie's has more crust than a NY Style. But its much better than Grotto's.

This place serves some great pizza. I got the pepperoni and sausage pizza and it was great! It's a good thing that I live in DC instead of Rehoboth because I would be big as a house!
